TRAVEL BURSARIES: ACIS Fifth Biennial Conference
The Australasian Centre for Italian Studies made a limited number of Travel Bursaries available, on a competitive basis, to current and recent postgraduate students who were not in full-time employment, to support their participation in its 2009 biennial conference in Auckland.
To be eligible, applicants had to be:
-
presenting a paper at the conference
-
in less than 0.5 of full-time employment
-
currently enrolled in a postgraduate programme (MA by research or PhD) or have graduated with a postgraduate degree within the last three years.
Each bursary was for up to NZ$500, the amount being in part dependent on the distance the applicant had to travel to attend the conference.
Applications for funding had to include the following:
-
Name and contact details including telephone number, email address and current home address (for posting a cheque). Those not resident in Australia must include bank account details for electronic funds transfer.
-
A statement of the applicant's commitment to attend the entire conference.
-
The accepted abstract of the conference paper.
-
A brief curriculum vitae.
-
For current students, a letter of support from a supervisor confirming the relevance of the conference to the applicant's research topic.
-
Proof of enrolment or date of graduation.
-
A statement of the distance to be travelled and a quote for lowest economy airfares.
Applications could be sent by email to conf@acis.org.au
The deadline for the receipt of applications was 31 Oct 2008.
Funds are only released to successful applicants on presentation of travel receipts.
