The Fourth ACIS Biennial Conference will be hosted by Griffith University at its South Bank campus in central Brisbane from 10 to 13 July 2007.

The opening function on Tuesday 10 July and the closing drinks on Friday 13 July will be held in the Ship Inn function room, while the main conference venue (Wednesday 11 - Friday 13 July) will be the Queensland Conservatorium.

NB if you are arriving by train, the closest station to the Ship Inn is called “South Bank”, while the station for the Conservatorium is called “South Brisbane”.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT, PARKING, TAXIS

Trains - On weekdays there is a train every 30 minutes from the airport (domestic and international terminals) to South Brisbane and South Bank, via the city. The trip takes about 30 minutes and the last train leaves the airport at 7pm. For full timetables both ways go to www.airtrain.com.au

Car parks closest to the Conservatorium are those for the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre and the QLD Performing Arts Centre (QPAC), and the South Bank Parking areas.

Buses - Brisbane city buses stop at several locations around South Bank including Merivale Street, Grey Street and Melbourne Street.

Ferries - Both the Cross River Ferry and the City Cat drop off and pick up at the terminals located on South Bank on the Clem Jones Promenade.

Taxis - a Courtesy phone is located in the main foyer of the Conservatorium near the internal stair case. The closest rank is in Grey Street at QPAC and at Rydges Hotel in Grey Street.
