ACIS Cassamarca Scholarships for Research in Italy 2009

The Australasian Centre for Italian Studies (ACIS) is offering up to four scholarships of up to $6000 each for Australasians wishing to undertake research in Italy during 2009. These awards are funded by the Cassamarca Foundation (Fondazione Cassamarca), and are available to students at Australasian universities who, in 2009, will be enrolled, full-time or part-time, in honours, research masters or PhD degrees and who will be engaged in research projects in any of the following areas of Italian studies: archaeology and classical antiquities, language, literature, culture, history, politics and society, including migration studies.

One of the awards is made available through the generous support of the Associazione Sarda del Queensland Inc. and will be awarded to a project containing a Sardinian component. One of the awards has also been made possible by the generous support of The Australian Foundation for Studies in Italy.

Successful applicants will have knowledge of Italian adequate for their research purposes.

Scholarships will not be awarded to attend language classes in Italy.
