Lauren Murphy is currently a PhD candidate at La Trobe University in Classics and Ancient History. Her research examines early collections of Greek and South Italian vases, many of which existed in Renaissance Italy. A central component of her research is the early seventeenth century vase catalogue of Andrea Vendramin, a Venetian collector of art, antiquities, and natural oddities. During the Save Venice Fellowship she aims to uncover more information about Vendramin and how he accumulated his collection as well as to examine other evidence of ancient vase collections in artworks, documents, and other materials.
